Frequently Asked Questions

What if the power goes out?

In the event of a power or internet outage, you can receive alerts by setting up a rule to check if the appliance has been disconnected. Even if there's no internet connection, HAM DinSwitch remembers to turn off the water heater after the time limit you set.

Are there any costs other than the price of each device?

Using our app to view readings, logged data, graphs, set up automations and alerts is completely free. We have apps for Android and iOS devices and you can also access the full functionality of the apps with your computer via our website (hamsystems.eu). There is a small subscription fee for some optional features, such as phone call alerts.

Do I need Wi-Fi?

Yes, a Wi-Fi network with Internet access is required for the device to work.

Are there any security concerns from people connected on the same network as the device?

No. Network communications always go through the cloud, where permissions and authentication take place. Devices will not respond on the local network for security reasons. All communications between the cloud and the device are encrypted (in addition to Wi-Fi encryption), making it virtually impossible to read data or control devices, even if the attacker has access to the network and/or Wi-Fi credentials.

Where are they made?

Our devices are designed and tested in EU (Greece). All of our devices have passed all required lab tests to have the CE mark affixed.
