Company Overview

Ktima Gerovassiliou has been active in the field of vineyards and wine since 1981. On the slopes of Epanomi, a few kilometres outside Thessaloniki, the well-kept vineyard surrounds the modern winery, where the estate's famous wines are produced.

The cultivation of the vineyard is done with great care and with constant experimentation in the study of Greek and international known and unknown varieties. The evolution of technology goes hand in hand with tradition throughout the whole process of viticulture and winemaking. The aim is to produce quality wines - from the privately owned vineyard - with the typical characteristics of the microclimate (terroir) of the region.

In the heart of the winery, the Gerovassiliou Wine Museum presents aspects of the world's wine history. The creation of the Wine Museum and the realisation of various activities - visits, tastings, educational programmes, seminars, publications - contribute together to the transmission of wine culture.

Challenge

Real time temperature recording in freezing and preservation where valuable product is stored with the possibility of notification in case of failure in the cooling system. Temperature recording in rack rooms to protect equipment (servers, switches, etc.) in case of failure.

At the same time, when a sensor is disconnected, it is an indirect way of notifying a possible power failure and/or internet outage at the location.

Solution

Our needs have been met with 4x HAM ThermoSenseX1 devices that can continuously record temperatures in real time through the platform. The data can be exported to a file (pdf, csv) and we can receive alerts, via email, app, sms, phone call, for risk and damage at any time.

Feedback

We want to emphasize the importance of sending SMS in case of a failure. The platform is very easy to use and gives a lot of important information to the person concerned. The support always in a prompt manner resolves issues that arise very rarely.
